Compression Stockings

These are for people hoping to prevent or with problems in the veins of their
legs, including deep vein thrombosis (DVT), phlebitis, varicose veins, swollen
legs, venous ulceration and after vein surgery. Medical compression stockings
work by applying graduated compression – highest at the ankle and gradually reducing
towards the top of the stocking. This encourages flow of venous blood back up the
leg. Scintera offers world-leading Maxis Micro and Brillant stockings.
Without going too much into the causes of varicose veins and DVT, compression
stockings are the best solution for the prevention of vein disease but also a
necessity as an adjunct to all form of treatment available. Whether the form of
therapy is Sclerotherapy, endoveinous laser, radio ablation and vein stripping
all these treatment use compression stockings or compression hosiery as a post
operative support as it is complementary to the treatment.
As prevention, most commonly used is support stockings like our Maxis relax stockings.
However surgeons recommend to patients that they use as a minimum compression socks
or stockings that are Class I and over. Such stockings are our Maxis Micro or Brillant
compression stockings as they are the best way to prevent a DVT on long haul flights
or if your job requires you to sit or stand for extended periods.
